These pieces come together as a pair, in a Yin Yang style. The felines claw at one dollar bills and hundred dollar bills, guarding them with viciousness and greed in their eyes; the shape and combination of the two coming together in this style represents a cycle.
Yin Yang is a concept that describes two interconnected, opposite forces which compliment and complete each other; the duality and cyclical force of the universe which tells us that we should strive for balance, that is the true governor of all things. So there is a calamitous nature here in that both creatures are driven by the same force, creating a cycle of greed that is often prevalent in the world around us.
There is no balance in the endless pursuit of money and material possession above all else, only emptiness. “The things you own end up owning you.”
